Students interested in participating in the co-op program must have completed certain specified courses in their academic program prior to each work term, maintain the specified GPA requirement and be full-time Honours. These are described for each program below.
In addition students in all programs must complete COOP2000 2.0 Introductory Professional Communications in the study term prior to their first work term, and COOP3000 2.0 generally in the study term following their first work term.

Biochemistry
Prior to the first work term: At least 48 credits in total, including CHEM1000 3.0, CHEM1001 3.0, BIOL1000 3.0, BIOL1001 3.0, MATH1013 3.0, MATH1014 3.0, 6 credits from PHYS1410 6.0, PHYS 1420 6.0 or PHYS1010 6.0, BCHM2020 3.0, BCHM2021 3.0, at least one of BIOL2040 3.0, BIOL2070 3.0, at least two of CHEM2011 3.0, CHEM2020 3.0, CHEM2021 3.0, CHEM2030 3.0, and at least 6 credits in non-Science courses.
Maintain CGPA of 5.0, and a Major GPA of 6.0.
Biotechnology
Prior to the first work term: At least 48 credits in total, including BIOL1000 3.00, BIOL1001 3.00, CHEM1000 3.00, CHEM1001 3.00, PHYS1410 6.00, CHEM2020 3.00, CHEM2021 3.00, CHEM2080 4.00, BIOL2020 3.00, BIOL2021 3.00, BIOL2070 3.00, 6 credits in 1000-level Mathematics; 3 credits in 1000-level Computer Science.
Maintain CGPA of 5.0, and a Major GPA of 6.0.
Chemistry
Prior to the first work term: At least 48 credits in total, including CHEM1000 3.0, CHEM1001 3.0, CHEM2011 3.0, CHEM2020 6.0, CHEM2030 3.0, CHEM2050 4.0, CHEM2080 4.0, MATH1013 3.0, MATH1014 3.0, 6 credits from PHYS1410 6.0, PHYS 1420 6.0 or PHYS1010 6.0, 3 credits in 1000-level Computer Science, and at least 6 credits in non-Science courses satisfying the General Education requirement for the degree program.
Maintain CGPA of 5.0, and a Major GPA of 6.0.
Environmental Biology
Prior to the first work term: At least 48 credits in total, including BIOL1000 3.00, BIOL1001 3.00, 6 credits in 1000-level Mathematics, 3 credits in 1000-level Computer Science, 6 credits in 1000-level Chemistry or Physics, ENVB2050 4.0, BIOL2060 3.0, 11 more credits from BIOL2010 4.0, BIOL2020 3.0, BIOL2021 3.0, BIOL2030 4.0, BIOL2040 3.0, BIOL2070 3.0, CHEM2020 3.0, CHEM2021 3.0 (either BIOL2070 3.0, or both BIOL2010 4.0 and BIOL2030 4.0, or both CHEM2020 3.0 and CHEM2021 3.0, must be chosen).
Maintain CGPA of 5.0, and a Major GPA of 6.0.
Environmental Science
Life Science Stream: Prior to the first work term: At least 48 credits in total, including GEOG1400 6.0, GEOG2400 6.0, GEOG2500 3.0 OR GEOG2600 3.0, BIOL1000 3.0, BIOL1001 3.0, CHEM1000 3.0, CHEM1001 3.0, 3 credits in 1000-level Computer Science, and at least 6 credits in non-Science courses satisfying the General Education requirement for the degree program.
Physical Science stream: Prior to the first work term: At least 48 credits in total, including GEOG1400 6.0, GEOG2400 6.0, GEOG2500 3.0 or GEOG2600 3.0, PHYS1410 6.0 or PHYS1010 6.0, CHEM1000 3.0, CHEM1001 3.0, EECS1540 3.0, and at least 6 credits in non-Science courses satisfying the General Education requirement for the degree program.
Maintain CGPA of 5.0, and a Major GPA of 6.0.
